The Collaborative
Divorce Process
Collaborative Divorce is a divorce process in which the parties and
their attorneys agree to resolve all issues in an atmosphere of
cooperation, honesty and integrity. Please click
here for a sample
of the collaborative divorce agreement. Collaborative Divorce
ensures a full and open exchange of information. The goal is to
minimize the negative emotional and economic consequences of
divorce.
Collaborative Divorce attorneys are committed to work diligently on
behalf of their clients in finding creative ways to reach an
equitable settlement. They believe that as much effort should be
exerted toward settlement as is traditionally spent in preparing and
conducting a trial.
The
emphasis in Collaborative Divorce is on attorneys working with the
parties to achieve a satisfactory settlement in an efficient,
cooperative manner. The parties meet with their attorneys to work on
agreements in four way settlement conferences.
The
parties will have the best representation for each phase of their
divorce. If they are unable to arrive at a settlement, the attorneys
withdraw from the case and the parties are free to retain trial
attorneys to pursue their matter in court.
Our goal is to minimize the negative economic, social and emotional
consequences of protracted litigation on the participants and their
families. We commit ourselves to the collaborative divorce process to
resolve our differences justly and equitably.
